Environmental stewardship has been in our project’s DNA since its conception. Our process starts with local brood stock whose eggs we raise in a state-of-the-art hatchery. Once the larvae have developed into juveniles, we transfer them to submersible, offshore pens in the clear waters of the Gulf of California, where they thrive in their natural environment until they reach harvest size in nine to twelve months. The pens are located in deep water with strong currents, and regular testing confirms that our operations have no discernible impact on water or benthic quality. Our research team in La Paz, Baja California Sur work to continually improve our processes affecting fish welfare, to ensure that our operations are among the most environmentally sound in the world.
